ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE ATLANTIC IMMIGRATION PROGRAM
Before you apply for the Atlantic Immigration Program, you must make sure that you meet the following eligibility criteria:.
Work Experience: At least 1 year related to the National Occupation Classification (NOC) occupation that you are applying for and should be on one of the following NOC skill levels:
• NOC Skill Type 0 – Management Jobs
• NOC Skill Level A – Professional Jobs
• NOC Skill Level B – Technical Jobs and Skilled Trades
• NOC Skill Level C – Intermediate Jobs
Education: Meet the requirements for education depending on the National Occupation Classification (NOC) occupation that you are applying for.
• NOC 0 or A – Minimum of post-secondary education or education for a year in Canada
• NOC B or C – A high school diploma in Canada
Hence, if you graduated outside Canada, you need an equivalent education for the following, together with an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) for confirmation. Also, your ECA report must be less than 5 years before you submit your application.
Language: Meet the language requirements depending on the National Occupation Classification (NOC) occupation that you are applying for:
• NOC 0, A, and B – Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 5 and/or Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) Level 5 for each language’s respective language skills Language
• NOC C – Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 4 and/or Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) Level 4 for each language’s respective language skills
Job Offer: Received a valid job offer from an employer in one of the Atlantic provinces of Canada:
• Nova Scotia
• New Brunswick
• Prince Edward Island
• Newfoundland and Labrador
Settlement Funds: Financially capable to meet the minimum settlement funds to support yourself and your family/dependents when you settle in Canada.
